AKIMBO COFFEE

Hands on hips. Feet planted. Ready.

A proposed independent specialty coffee shop for Bend's mornings — before the ride, the trail, the mountain, the workday.

The idea

Akimbo is in the planning stage. The concept: a counter-service café built around Bend's outdoor rhythm — early hours, genuinely good specialty coffee, local pastries, and a place locals claim as their own.

No location, opening date, or menu is final yet. Everything on this site is a work in progress while the idea is evaluated properly — starting with the business plan.

Working on it in order

Market first, rent before romance, conservative numbers before a lease. A full draft business plan — Bend market, competition, start-up budget, three-year projections — has been prepared and is shared privately with lenders and partners on request. It isn't published here.

Bend, in brief

About 107,000 residents and growing, a median household income of $96,394, and roughly 2 million overnight visitors a year. Bend already loves coffee — Thump, Backporch and Lone Pine prove it. Akimbo has to earn its place, and the plan says how it would try.
